Referral Terms

BreakPass is a service of X Labs L.L.C-FZ (“X Labs”, “we”, “us”), licence 2650741.01, Meydan Grandstand, 6th floor, Nad Al Sheba, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. These terms cover the BreakPass referral offer: give $5, get $5. They sit alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Offers at a glance

• Referred by a friend: you get $5 of promotional balance when you pay for your first subscription (any plan, monthly or yearly). The friend who referred you gets $5 too (section 4).
• Came through an affiliate’s link: you get $5 of promotional balance if your first payment is for any yearly plan, or for Pro or Team (Affiliate Agreement, clause 5.6).
• Promotional balance expires 6 months after it’s added. It has no cash value, can’t be transferred and is never refunded. We show the expiry date when we add it and in Billing.

1. The offer

You give a friend $5 of promotional balance. You get $5 of promotional balance too. Promotional balance is for BreakPass alerts only.

2. Who can take part

You can share your referral link while you have an active BreakPass plan and a verified phone number. You must be 18 or older. You must not live in the United Arab Emirates (Availability in our Terms of Service). Your friend must be new to BreakPass, with no existing account.

3. How your friend gets their $5

Your friend opens your link (or enters your code), creates an account and subscribes to a plan. When they pay for their first subscription (any plan, monthly or yearly), we add $5 of promotional balance to their account. If that payment is refunded or charged back, we remove the unspent balance.

4. How you get yours

You get $5 of promotional balance 30 days after your friend’s first subscription payment, if on that day:

• at least one real alert has been delivered for your friend (the test alert sent during setup does not count); and
• there is no refund, chargeback or dispute on your friend’s payments.

If these aren’t all met yet, we wait for up to 90 days after the first subscription payment. After that, the reward lapses. We tell you by email and in the app when a reward is granted.

Rewards 1 to 20 in any 12 months are granted automatically. From the 21st, we review each reward before we grant it. That is a check for abuse, not a limit. If you refer many customers, our Affiliate Program may suit you better. It’s a separate agreement for people who promote BreakPass.

5. About promotional balance

• Promotional balance can only be used for BreakPass alerts.
• It has no cash value, cannot be transferred or sold, and is never refunded.
• Promotional balance expires 6 months after it’s added. We show the expiry date, in capital letters, when we add it and in Billing.
• We use your monthly plan allowance first, then promotional balance, then top-ups.
• Promotional balance is a discount on BreakPass. It is never paid out in cash, by us or by our payment provider.
• A referral reward is a thank-you triggered by your friend’s purchase. It is not payment for a service.

6. Sharing your link

• Share by copying your link or by using your phone’s share sheet. You choose who gets it and you send it yourself.
• Tell your friend that you get a reward if they sign up and pay. The message we suggest says so. Keep that line if you edit it.
• BreakPass never messages your friends and never uploads your contacts.
• Do not send spam or bulk unsolicited messages.

7. One source per account

Each account has one referral source. Among referral links and codes, the first one a friend uses counts, and it is locked when their account is created. A referral link is remembered for 90 days where you allow our referral cookie; otherwise your friend enters your code at sign-up. A friend can enter a code until their first payment, and not after.

An affiliate link always wins over a referral code, whichever came first. If a friend’s account is credited to an affiliate, the affiliate is paid and no referral reward is granted. A referral code and an affiliate link never both pay.

8. What is not allowed

• Referring yourself, or opening more than one account.
• Posting your link or code on coupon, deal or cashback sites.
• Spam or unsolicited messages.
• Running paid ads that use the BreakPass name.

If we reasonably believe these rules were broken, we may withhold or reverse rewards, remove promotional balance, and suspend or close the accounts involved.

9. Checks we run

To catch abuse, we compare phone numbers, email addresses, device and network details and a fingerprint of the payment card (never the card number) across accounts. We use this only to prevent fraud. See our Privacy Policy. Referred accounts have the same limits and checks as every other account.

10. Changes

We may change or end the referral offer. For friends who paid before a change, the rules in force on the day of their first payment apply. We post changes on this page with a new date.

11. Liability and your rights

To the extent the law allows, our liability under these terms is limited to granting the rewards you have earned. If you’re a consumer, your country’s mandatory rights are unaffected. Questions: hello@breakpass.ai.
