Acceptable use policy
Last updated: 22 October 2026
BreakPass is software. It lets your own AI agents and apps send alerts to you, and to people you invite, by WhatsApp, SMS and phone call. This policy says what BreakPass is for, what it isn’t for, and how we enforce it. It is part of our Terms of Service. BreakPass is a service of X Labs L.L.C-FZ (“X Labs”, “we”, “us”), licence 2650741.01, Meydan Grandstand, 6th floor, Nad Al Sheba, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
BreakPass is not designed or guaranteed for emergencies or life-safety use. An alert can be late or not arrive. Keep another way to get critical alerts. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
What BreakPass is for
First-party alerts: messages that your own agents and apps send about your own work, for example a failed nightly job, a production deploy that failed or a task that needs your answer. They go only to:
- you, on your own number, after you confirm it with a one-time code; and
- people you invite, after each of them confirms their own number with a one-time code and agrees to get your alerts.
What BreakPass isn’t for
You may not use BreakPass for:
- marketing, telemarketing, promotions, advertising or sales messages;
- bulk or mass messages, campaigns, newsletters or announcements to a list;
- outreach, cold contact or lead generation;
- messages or calls to anyone who hasn’t confirmed their number and agreed to get your alerts, including numbers you bought, rented, collected or guessed;
- calling or texting numbers at random or in sequence, or any other auto-dialing;
- reselling BreakPass, or offering a calling, messaging or phone service to others;
- unlawful, threatening, harassing, abusive or deceptive content, or messages that pretend to come from someone else;
- getting around our verification, rate limits, opt-outs or other safeguards; or
- using BreakPass if you live in the United Arab Emirates or while you are there (see Availability in our Terms of Service).
Urgent and critical alerts
You may send any lawful alert, including alerts you consider urgent or critical. BreakPass is not designed or guaranteed for emergencies or life-safety use, and it doesn’t contact emergency services. If a late or missed alert could put anyone at risk, keep another way to get it (see “Have a backup for critical alerts” in our Terms of Service).
Software, not a phone service
- BreakPass is a software service. We aren’t a phone company or a telecom operator, and we don’t sell phone lines, calling plans or messaging plans.
- You don’t get a phone number from us, and you can’t choose, buy or rent one through BreakPass. Alerts come from BreakPass’s own sender numbers, and every call starts by saying that it is a BreakPass alert.
- Your agents and apps can’t place their own calls or send their own texts through BreakPass. Each alert is a short text your agent or app writes, which BreakPass sends as a message or reads out in an automated call.
- BreakPass doesn’t take calls or texts for you. Replies and call-backs reach BreakPass, which handles STOP and HELP.
- We deliver alerts through licensed telecom carriers and communications platform providers. Our Privacy Policy names them.
How consent works
- Your own number. You add your number in the app and confirm it with a one-time code. Before we send the code, we tell you that we’ll send alerts and codes to that number.
- People you invite. You send a personal invite link, and the invite page names you. The person enters their own number, ticks a box to agree to get your alerts (it isn’t ticked in advance) and confirms the number with a one-time code. We send them nothing before they tick the box. Only invite people who know you and want to get your alerts.
- How many numbers. Starter includes 1 verified number, Pro up to 5 and Team up to 25. Your own number counts.
- Your agents never see numbers. Agents reach people by the label you gave them, never by their phone number.
- Stopping. Anyone can stop all BreakPass alerts to their number at any time: reply STOP to a WhatsApp message (or to a text, for US and Canadian numbers), press 9 on a call or email hello@breakpass.ai (we act on an email within 10 business days). The number then shows as “Stopped by recipient” on every account that added it, and gets nothing more from BreakPass until it is invited and verified again.
You can see the consent screens and the exact consent texts on our Text message consent page.
Limits and safeguards
- Verification codes are capped: at most 5 per account and 3 per number in 24 hours.
- Rate limits apply to every account and every connected agent. An agent that sends too many alerts in a short time is paused.
- Alert calls last up to 55 seconds.
- Failed sends: your first 5 failed sends a day (UTC) are free; from the 6th, a text that a carrier blocks as spam is charged at the normal price, unless we caused the block. Each account can have up to 20 uncharged failed sends an hour and 20 a day (UTC), across all channels, and after 10 failed sends in a row to one number on one channel we pause that channel for that number for 1 hour (see “What you pay for” in our Terms of Service).
- We don’t send alerts to Belarus, China, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Syria or the United Arab Emirates.
Enforcement
- We review accounts with unusual patterns, for example many unanswered calls, many failed sends, many failed setup tests or many stops.
- If an account or an agent breaks this policy or our Terms, we can pause the agent, or suspend or close the account. A person at X Labs decides every suspension or closure; automatic safeguards such as rate limits and daily failure limits can pause sending on their own. Where we can, we tell you why first. A paused or suspended account sends no alerts, including critical ones.
- Carriers and communications providers can also block messages that break their rules.
Report abuse
If you got a BreakPass alert you didn’t agree to, reply STOP to a WhatsApp message (or to a text, for US and Canadian numbers) or press 9 on a call to stop it at once. Then email hello@breakpass.ai with your number and the time of the alert. We look into every report.
